General Rules

Eligibility

Open to all Sherpa clients with active training packages
Participants must complete waiver/informed consent (existing client waivers cover participation)
Separate competitions for Men’s and Women’s divisions

Challenge Period

Start: Labor Day (Monday, September 1, 2025)
End: Monday, September 30, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Late entries accepted through September 7, anyone can enter anytime

Safety and Form

Warm-up required before each rowing session
Coaches available for technique instruction, form prioritized over speed and distance
Minimum 48 hours rest after max-effort rows
Notify coaches of injuries or concerns
Sherpa staff may modify or exclude participants for safety reasons

How to Play

Registration

Sign up at the front desk or with your coach
Receive tracking instructions via the challenge webpage
Set personal goals with coach support

Tracking Progress

Use iPad log sheet to record each rowing session
Log: Date, Distance (meters), Time, Staff verification
View weekly leaderboards on the webpage

Recording and Scoring

Only meters completed at Sherpa count
Each session must be verified by staff on the iPad
Minimum 500 meters per session required

Scoring

Primary: Total meters rowed
Secondary: Most sessions completed, Fastest 500m, Most improved

Strategy Tips

Consistency beats intensity – Short, regular sessions add up

Prioritize technique – Efficient rowing leads to better distances

Mix steady state, intervals, and sprints
