Cycling For Charity

Riding your bike doesn’t always have to be about you.

Whatever reasons you may have for training and riding your bicycle we likely share the same reasons with you. One major benefit of cycling is applying your riding skills to benefit someone or something other than yourself. There are plenty of local charities that Sherpa supports because we believe the importance of giving back. We’ve hand selected charities that have touched one of our staff members or clients. Often times we rally our Sherpa community and form a team of fundraising cyclists to collectively attend these events. So whether you’re a seasoned racer with a fancy bike or simply a weekend warrior with a hybrid, this is for you. Join us for one of the charitable events below or recommend a new event.

cycling-iconConnecticut Challenge

The Connecticut Challenge empowers cancer survivors to live healthier, happier and longer lives by creating and funding unique survivorship programs and research. Starting from the Hunt Club riders can cycle between 25-180 miles. Team Sherpa continues to grow in size each year.

cycling-iconBike MS

Whether you’re new to Bike MS or ride every year, together we will raise money, have fun, and make a difference in the lives of people living with MS. Sherpa annually supports Team Wells Fargo out of Sherwood Island State Park for either a 30 or 60 mile ride.

The Pan-Mass Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through an annual 180 mile bike-a-thon that crosses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Sherpa supports Team Brent in their annual excursion from Sturbridge to Provincetown.

Sound Cyclists donates part of the proceeds from the Bloomin Metric to North East Community Cycles, a community based non-profit organization.  Their volunteers clean and refurbish donated bicycles and give them away “free” to needy children and adults.
